  • A connection to some of the TPEs
  • A plan or ideas about establishing procedures and structure for students while simultaneously creating a safe-learning environment
  • Acknowledges Richard Elmore’s Instructional Core and how it relates to you as a professional educator

The Found Poem is your creative opportunity to show off what you’ve learned in class. If you would like to decorate your poem, please bring materials necessary to do so.

I will provide paper for the essay and poem. Please bring blue or black ballpoint pens.

If you want your essay returned, please bring a stamped and self-addressed envelope. Remember, your essay may be several pages and will have several attachments (reflection, brainstorm, rubric), please consider this when determining envelope size and postage.

4/29 Class

On Tuesday, we will have a guest speaker who will address special education needs and tips in general education classes. It would help our speaker focus his presentation if you provide questions or concerns you have beforehand. Please send them to me via email or as a comment on the blog.

See you Tuesday.

Happy Earth Day!

As we approach the end of the semester, it is tempting to skip class and do other equally important things.  Try not to give in to this temptation!

Our April 22nd class will be full of good ideas to use both with your students and on your SED 521 lesson plan.

See you Tuesday at 7 PM.

New Look

Had to change the template of blog to get the links to work on the Resources page. Not as stylish, but all the buttons work – hooray!

Resources Page

Apologies, the links on the Resources page are not working right now. I will let you know when the problem is fixed.

Activities for JFK Lesson

The activities for the JFK lesson are now available on the Resource page.

Please be sure to complete the questions for our Socratic Seminar on 4/8/08, as well as the other assignments, posted on the Assignments page.

See you on the 8th!

Reminder BDA Questions

Please email me your BDA questions from RR#6. I would like to compile a master list of your very intriquing questions to use as class discussion.

Thanks to Tanya and Nobu for being the first to submit their questions.  :-)

No April Fool’s Here

Thank you for bringing your classroom textbook or material with you to last night. Apologies for not using them, but the energy level was low and clearly it was best to end class early.

Please see the Assignments page for what is due next week. In addition, please print and bring a copy of the Lesson Plan template with you. You might want to modify it – allowing space in each section for you to take notes as you observe a demonstration lesson. You may also wish to print a B-D-A template for additional note-taking. Click here for B-D-A template: BDA Observation Template
